Daniel is an Israeli child who moves with his parents to live in distant America. When he arrives on his first day at school, he meets all the children, but it soon becomes apparent that they do not speak a word of Hebrew, nor does he understand a word of English.
The teacher asks the class to split up into pairs. Daniel and Michelle remain single and are paired together without having chosen.
Each pair must embark on a joint task that can be solved only if they cooperate.
At first Daniel and Michelle find it almost impossible to communicate, but with time, Michelle teaches Daniel a few words in English and Daniel, who is a champ at magic tricks succeeds in conquering her heart and together they solve the task, bridge the cultural and language gap and develop a deep friendship.
